I am on the point of buying this 2nd hand Rameau piano from a lady who bought it new 25 years ago. I ve played (only a beginner) on it, and it sounded very nice even if it was 6-7 years ago it was last tuned. The serial number is 26.275. Can you tell the building year and if it is Chinese or France. Whats the model of the Rameau and has it Renner action or Langeur? Is it veneer or real wood?
I have to pay 1100€ for the piano. What do you think?

Un piano Rameau N° 26275 ..1982 ..Perso je l eviterai ..puisque les bons N° commencent à 40 000
Savoir quelle est la meca.... sans ouvrir le piano ça va être difficile...
Faites le expertiser c est plus prudent ...Right

Vous preferez un nouveau Yamaha B1( entry level) avant cette Rameau? Qu-est ce que pas bon avec Rameau avant Nr.40.000? Quelle est le modele sur les photos? Les Rameau de cette modele dans la period 1982, est ce qu' il avait tous la meme action ou Ily des piano's action Langeur et Renner mixed?
Il est tres fréquent de trouver des chevalets des pianos fabriqués entre 1973 et 1984 avec de sérieuses avaries certains sont fendus jusque dans les médiums ..Donc si vous voulez vous prenez le risque perso , je les evite.....bien a vous

Je confirme totalement l'avis de Picolo, problème souvent rencontré, ainsi que des fentes de tables prématurées. Mais à partir de 1980 on trouve certains modèles beaucoup plus fiables en continuité avec les modèles qui posent problème. Difficile de s'y retrouver sans un examen précis !

My sister has a Rameau for over 20 years now. It´s still working. I play on it sometimes.
I don´t really like this brand, but for a beginner it can be a good starting.
Why don´t you look at other brands such as used Kawai or Yamaha. it shouldn´t cost over 2000 euros, and much more fun on the longer term.
By the way, according to your pics, this Rameau seems to be in very good condition.

Ce sont surtout les platines de noix qui sont à la ramasse : métal mou qui se tord en banane ... Conséquence les axes ne sont plus maintenus et finissent par se balader de fourches en fourches ...
Oui, je confirme pour bien connaitre ce piano, la mécanique Langer 75 est très désagréable à jouer. J'ai appris sur un instrument similaire et ai l'occasion de remettre les doigts dessus quand je rends visite à mes parents.

Funny that i don't find anything else on Google about Langer and Herrburger Broooks' bad reputation of the "75" action. Thanks anyway for all the info. I bought the piano, and it plays beautifully. End of the year, a tech is coming to tune and regulate it.
Johan, it's not surprising at all that you can't find anything on the net similar to what they told you here. Piano Majeur is one of a kind -- we are blessed to have all these wonderful, talented, helpful, skilled people in one place. You received advice from some pros.
Perhaps you can learn more French to take full advantage of the forum as they really gave you exceptional treatment in English. And when in Rome...
