Their earlier pianos were of high quality but as hands changed and factories moved that quality was greatly reduced. At 38" tall you have a "spinet" piano, called that because of the drop action used and the small size. These are the least expensive types of uprights made. Based on your description of condition and the current market I would suggest a selling value for your Kimball (Whittaker) spinet at approximately $600-$900. Best wishes!
C'est donc apparemment une sous-marque de Kimball, qui fait surtout des pianos consoles (spinet), comme Wurlitzer et d'autres dont on a déjà parlé sur ce forum.
